Another MDJ Antagonism
My reply to the early post in the MDJ's "Around Town" column (5/6/08) is: reporters should not underestimate nor have so little regard for the public and their ability to read and comprehend what I have written, versus how those in the press deliberately distort my words.

My reply to the early post in the MDJ's "Around Town" column (5/6/08) is: reporters should not underestimate nor have so little regard for the public and their ability to read and comprehend what I have written, versus how those in the press deliberately distort my words.
To impugn our attorney's advice is a questionable precedent to be setting, as well as to question a citizen's right to due process of law - whether that citizen is a public official or not. It is my opinion that there is a problem within the Tax Commissioner/Assessor's office - a problem reported to me by many of my constituents. It is why the tax issue is one of the goals I intend to address should my concerned citizens of the 4th District re-elect me.
As for the reporter's "fellow journalist" who commented about my reference to God's Ten Commandments and that among them remained God's mandate to "love our neighbor" - Jesus did, indeed, speak these words (Matthew 22:36-40), however, many Biblical scholars have taught that within the Ten Commandments is Almighty God's admonition to "love thy neighbor:"
The 8th, 9th, and 10th Commandments are based on "love of neighbor" : (#8) Thou shalt not bear false witness against they neighbor; (#9) Thou shalt not covet they neighbor's wife (husband); and (#10) Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's goods." When we violate these Commandments, we do NOT love our neighbor but gravely harm our neighbor which offends Almighty God.
Stay tuned.
